Contracting industry leader Nathan Henderson dead at 43

Nathan Henderson, executive vice president of Midwest Pacific Rail Net & Logistics and managing partner and chief operating office of North America Rail Partners, LLC, died April 18, 2018.

 

Henderson, 43, began his rail career with CSX in 1998 and moved up to division manager before joining R. J. Corman Railroad Group in 2011 as vice president of operations. He served as vice president of material sales, vice president of strategic sales and marketing and chief commercial officer at R. J. Corman Railroad Group before being named president of R. J. Corman Railroad Services in January 2017.

In December 2017, he resigned to pursue opportunities at Midwest Pacific Rail Net & Logistics and was in the process of launching Henderson Rail Services at the time of his death.

He was a graduate of Morehead State University, as well as the University of Kentucky and served on industry boards including the AAR Associates Advisory Board and the National Railroad Maintenance and Construction (NRC) Board of Directors. Henderson had recently assumed the chairmanship of the NRC Education Committee.

“Nate was a truly fun person, big-hearted, motivated and ambitious. He was legendarily well connected and well loved and leaves behind hundreds, if not thousands of friends,” said Chuck Baker, president of the NRC.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 25 and a Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 26, both at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead, Ky. Burial will follow in the Olive Hill Memorial Gardens.
