Colorado’s Regional Transportation District has announced two light rail maintenance projects to support the safe operation of the E, H, and R lines between I-25/Broadway Station in Denver and Lincoln Station in Lone Tree.

Maintenance work will necessitate periodic schedule alterations beginning in April and continuing through October.

Surfaces at the Louisiana/Pearl Station will be repainted beginning April 2. Sundays through Thursdays, beginning at 11 p.m., there will be no nighttime service on the E and H lines. From April 2 through May 11, service will resume at 5 a.m. each day, Monday through Friday, because the maintenance work will require the shutdown of power to overhead electrical wire for the lines, a release said.

RTD will begin an extensive project on April 3 to undertake maintenance and repairs to the caps on top of the retaining walls, known as coping panels, that run along the Southeast Rail Line south of Broadway to Lincoln Station near I-25.

The coping panel upgrades will be completed in nine segments, or blocks. Workers will start at Lincoln Station and work their way north. In 2024, similar work will be done on the south side of the rail alignment, a release said.
