The American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association is holding a symposium in Kansas City today through Wed., Feb. 8, on best practices for roadbed and ballast installation and maintenance.

The symposium will feature railroad industry leaders, practitioners, and researchers devoted to examining challenges and solutions related to railway track ballast, roadbed, and drainage. There will be over 20 presentations by subject matter experts, and the keynote speaker will be Ed Boyle, VP of Engineering for Norfolk Southern, and RT&S’s 2020 Engineer of the Year.

RT&S is covering the event, and we’ll file at least one report each day of the symposium.

You can learn more about the event here.
