UP invests $20 million in Kansas’ infrastructure; begins double track project in Texas
Union Pacific will strengthen Kansas’ transportation infrastructure by investing $20 million in the rail line between Topeka and Kansas City, Kan. The project, funded entirely by Union Pacific, began June 16 and is scheduled to be completed by mid-November.

U.S. Rail & Infrastructure trade mission to the U.A.E. on track
Thirty companies
representing the U.S.’ rail and infrastructure technology, engineering,
security and construction sectors will convene at the Emirates Palace Hotel in
Abu Dhabi on June 20 to launch the "The U.S. Commercial Railroad &
Infrastructure Trade Mission to the United Arab Emirates," led by the
U.S.-U.A.E. Business Council and the Association of American Railroads.
C$500,000 shortline rail infrastructure grants on track
Saskatchewan shortline railways, which primarily
serve grain producers, will receive C$500,000 for this year’s infrastructure grants
to assist them with projects such as track maintenance, railway tie
replacements and bridge repairs.
